What we collect
Nothing personal. Dean's List does not require an account, does not link data to your identity, and does not sell or share user data with third parties for advertising.
Analytics
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collect anonymous, aggregated usage data — screen views, feature adoption, and crash reports. No user identifiers, no advertising IDs, no linked identity. This helps me understand which features get used so I can focus development.
Local storage
Your favorite teams, recent searches, onboarding state, and Pro subscription status are stored on your device via Apple's UserDefaults (and a shared App Group container for widget access). This data never leaves your device.
Third-party data sources
Game data, player stats, standings, and odds are fetched from the balldontlie NCAAB API. Dean's List sends only the queries needed to render the current screen. No personal information is transmitted with these requests.
Subscriptions
Dean's List Pro is handled entirely by Apple's App Store via StoreKit 2. Dean's List never sees your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID. The app only receives a signed entitlement confirming whether your subscription is active.
Apple Intelligence (AI Game Recaps)
Dean's List Pro's AI Game Recaps are generated on-device using Apple's Foundation Models. Prompts and generated recaps stay on your device — nothing is sent to a cloud AI service, and no reading behavior is logged or transmitted.
Data deletion
Because Dean's List holds no personal data, no deletion request is required. Uninstalling the app removes all local storage. Subscriptions can be managed under Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the "Effective" date at the top of this page updates and — for major changes — an in-app notice appears the next time you open Dean's List.
